My New Hale!

Aloha folks!

At long last I can show you a little of my new surroundings (though I've been here a few weeks now!). Ok, so I'm living on an island that's actually within the island. The picture above is a view of the Koko Isle from high up near Hanauma Bay (a short walk away and a fabulous place to snorkel- we went a couple of weeks ago and swam inches away from a green sea turtle!! Pics will come at some point). As you can see the island is very small and what you can't see is that there is only one street- a circle of road with a row of houses on either side. We live on the inner circle.

This is Koko Crater. An extinct volcanic formation that I see every day as I walk over the bridge (off the island circle) to get my bus to work.

A view of the marina as I cross the bridge onto our community island on my way back from work.

It's all too much for some people...
Keith retreats into a den made from a duvet and chairs with a glass of scotch after a hard days work (and possibly to escape mine, Devon and Danielles excited, post-work girly gossip and scandal of all the goings on a the SLP!)!

Finally, Devon peeping through our serving hatch from the small kitchen into the dining area of our living room. To her right is one of our front doors. The other is on my left as I take the picture. Both lead into our front courtyard/patio, which is fenced in, and leads to our covered parking and the road. We have another small courtyard on the opposite side of the house, and combined they let in tons of natural light and give the spacious living area a really open, airy feel. Danielle has a downstairs en suite bedroom, Devon and Keith share the en suite master bedroom upstairs and I have an upstairs room too, with its own lanai (balcony) overlooking the front garden. I have my own bathroom too, in the hallway, and we even have a spare bedroom! The place has wood-laminate flooring downstairs and plush, cream coloured carpet upstairs. The place is just great, it's only real dissappointment being the terrible early 90's art work, in washy pastel colours of innappropriate proportions for the wall spaces and badly positioned all over the house. But I can live with that!
